Promise Delivered: $11,334.25 Successfully Transferred to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund in Nepal

The Nepal Cultural Society of BC (NCSBC) is happy to announce the funds raised during our recent “United for Nepal” campaign have been officially remitted to Nepal to support immediate emergency relief and long-term rebuilding efforts.

As part of commitment to 100% financial transparency, we are sharing the final transaction details with our community. On October 5, 2026, a direct wire transfer was completed for the net proceeds of our September 27 Disaster Relief Dinner. Thanks to the support of our financial institution, no wire fees were charged, so every single cent raised is going directly to those who need it most.

A Special Acknowledgment

None of this would have been possible without our donors, volunteers, and community leaders. We moved mountains together.

We would also like to extend special thanks to the Hindu Buddhist Foundation of Canada (HBFC). When this tragedy struck, HBFC immediately began a grassroots fundraising collection among community members. Because of the complex regulatory hurdles involved in sending international disaster relief as a charitable organization, HBFC partnered with NCSBC. They entrusted us with the $5,000 gathered from individual community members, presenting the funds at our September 27 dinner so that we could remit the money to the Government of Nepal on their behalf. This collaboration highlights the deep unity across our diaspora.

Thank you to everyone who contributed. Together, we have sent a powerful message of hope and solidarity from British Columbia to the people of Nepal in their darkest hour.
